The Dead Sled VW Bus

The Dead Sled was a tribute to the Grateful Dead rock band. This 1967 V.W. Microbus was completely transformed into a one of a kind street rod. This rod was built for a wealthy businessman’s daughter as a high school graduation present.

Engine and Transmission:
- Mid chassis Corvette fuel injected 350 cubic inch engine
- Detailed and painted to match van theme
- Stainless headers and exhaust
- MSD ignition

Body:
- 1967 VW Microbus, rust free southern California van
- Floor removed
- Custom fabricated chassis
- Impact front reinforcement
- Detailed and finished undercarriage to match bus exterior finish
- Custom mixed pearl yellow and white with purple paisley floral graphics airbrushed thru center of body. All done in Dupont paint finishes

Chassis and Suspension:
- Fabricated chassis in 2"X4"mild steel square boxed and tubing
- Independent tubular constructed front suspension
- Independent Corvette rear suspension with posi traction
- Disk brakes
- Tilt steering assembly
- Rack and pinion steering
- Billett 16" front and rear wheels

Audio and Video System:
- 2500 watts of amplification
- Three Bazooka bass tubes and multiple other mid and high range speakers
- Two six disc CD changers
- TV, VCR, and Sega game

Interior:
- Grateful Dead themed interior with Dancing bears, Skeleton Uncle Sam and Roses all by Ogden Top and Trim
- BFG tires
